So we're moving in a month and a half. Eeeek! Haven't really started packing and so much to do, like pick out paint colors, design our kids rooms and did I mention, pack?

Inspiration for Under the Stairs

We have a very large under the stairs nook that's adjacent to our children's play room. We've shown the room to Liam and he went nuts over it. It has a 'door way' we'll hide with drapery or Value Village tablecloth finds and a "hallway" leading under the stairs which we can line with carpet and fairy lights. We can throw a bunch of beanbag chairs, line the walls with shelves, more fairy lights, some streamers, posters of forests and rivers and mossy places. It's going to be the perfect nook for the kids to hide out in.

Liam's bedroom is absolutely huge and has a really adorable shelf built into the wall under a big window. Getting a loft bed would allow us to put a loveseat in his room, which we can use to snuggle up on and read books before bed. Still, 3 years later, I miss Liam's very first nursery. I wouldn't mind using those same colors again with a more big-boy feel.

Its a bit BRIGHT, but with a muted tonal map and punchy walls, I can see this being perfect for a little boy.

The thing I love most about this room is the bed and the vibrant red color. It would be so easy to do with a vintage bedroom set off kijiji or usedottawa.com. We want something different for Alice's room that she can really grow with and were thinking of using pink, dark gray and dove gray as colors. But this room has me inspired to really splash out with color!

Okay wow this is gorgeous. A cool 'Alice in Wonderland' print from Etsy and some 70% discount sheet sets from Winners and a refurbished bed, and VOILA! Gorgeous and thrifty.
